Tuljapur is in the Maharashtra district of Osmanabad. A place where Tulja Bhavani, Chhatrapati Shivaji’s Kuldevi mother, is established, and who is still revered as Kuldevi by many Maharashtrians and others.
Tulja Bhavani is one of Maharashtra’s three-and-a-half Shaktipeeths, as well as one of India’s major fifty-one Shaktipeeths. The sword is said to have been given to Shivaji by Goddess Maa herself. This sword is currently housed in the Museum of London.
